Chilli Garlic Green Beans
These Chilli Garlic Green Beans are a great healthy alternative to hot chips.
Alright. I get it. Not as tasty as hot chips. But seriously, you can eat these every night and feel good. And that makes them a great alternative.
If you don’t have fresh chilli, use ½ teaspoons of chilli flakes (or more if you like it hot)!
Double the recipe and make extra veggies for another meal. Keep them in the fridge and then you've got a healthy snack or add them to another dish. It's a simple way to eat more veggies and get fibre to prevent constipation.

Chilli Garlic Green Beans
- Prep time 5 minutes
- Cooking time 5-7 minutes
- Serves 4 as a side
- Very easy!
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- brown onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1-2 red chilli, chopped
- 2 tsp of lemon zest
- 400g (14oz) green beans, ends trimmed
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Heat a wok or fry pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil, onion, garlic, lemon zest and chilli. Cook for 2-3 minutes until onion slightly browned.
- Add green beans and cook for another 3-4 minutes, tossing. Season with salt then remove from heat and serve with toasted sesame seeds.
